Jan Zwart was born and raised in the center of Amsterdam, Netherlands. After travelling extensively in Africa, Asia and South America, he became a professional photographer in 1986. Since 1992 Jan is a member of the Photographers Association Netherlands (PANL) and has repeatedly been honored with the PANL Kodak Award (4 gold and 5 silver Awards, 9 Merits and 46 nominations). The Association of Photographers England has honored his work with 1 silver Award, 1 Merit and 2 nominations.
